The big question today is will General Motors get slapped as
hard as Toyota? With penalties as steep
as 1.2 billion in fines, similar to Toyota’s penalty for bearing false
information to the public, will General Motors survive? I can say for certain the Product Advisors
will most likely not ride out the storm.
Fortunately for Toyota and its employees there was an earned respect
from clients. Toyota fostered the
relationship based on safety and lifestyle affordability. General Motor’s slogan “people in motion”
doesn’t exactly infuse the brand culture of a company who can manage a recall
of 1.5 million vehicles with power steering issues.
